Ok, my first video lesson, you'll notice that English isn't my native language ;)
Tommy Johnson - Canned Heat Blues
See my other videos for the whole song.
Questions are welcome
A song by Charley Patton... The original was in standard tuning in the key of e but compensating the lack of ability and skills required tuning to open e. I still have to figure out some licks.
Another Robert Johnson classic - played in open G tuning. It isn't too hard to play but it's hard to sing and to make it sound well - maybe I'll post a better version in a few days
My version of Tommy Johnson's "Canned Heat Blues"...
used a capo on 2nd fret but found out it wasn't too wise... a bit out of tune also ;D maybe i'll post a better version later
Short version of HTKF by Skip James... I taught all by myself so please don't expect a 100%-remake :P. Made a mistake in the end but was too lazy to re-record^^
Ok this is actually a medley of two songs which are very similar... The first two verses are derived from Willie Brown's Future Blues , the rest is "Screamin' And Hollerin' The Blues" by Charley Patton.
Guitar tuning is open G (DGDGHD)
On my brother's steelstring this time. It's a crappy Yamaha (between 12th fret and fingerbord there's room for your favourite cigar)
Tuning is cross-note-tuning (open D minor)
My version of Cherry Ball, no vocals (with good reason :D)... I know it doesn't compete really, but there are no tabs on the net. Tuning is Cross-tuning (EBEGBE)
Another old classic, composed by Robert Johnson and made popular by Elmore James. Open D tuning, capo on 2nd fret for better sound when hitting empty strings
I rerecorded this again several weeks ago (notice my nice beard ;)) with a better cam, so there are no problems with synchronisation.
Open G-tuning
originally recorded by Charlie Patton in 1929
