With a deep black base as a canvas, the PRO-1150HD paints a rich, colorful image that impressively represents Pioneer's KURO series of HDTVs.
I realize that this plasma is more expensive than other 50" models, but its superior quality will pay dividends for those able to make the investment.
Uncomplicated to setup, the ViewSonic N4285p produces a rich, colorful picture that plucked my heart strings.
Perhaps a cold blooded videophile would demand more picture controls, but for a simple fella like me, who just wants to watch TV, the N4285p is like the gal next door.
The Samsung HL-T5689S is not your father's old funky RPTV. This feature-rich, DLP driven HDTV delivers a spacious, colorful 1080p image that challenges its thinner competition. And just to show off, it can display 3D programs.
VIZIO has gained a reputation for producing solidly performing, well priced HDTVs. The 1080p VO47LF, with its beautiful 47" HD picture quality and quite respectable sound, upholds that tradition.
The VIZIO JV50P is a meat and potatoes HDTV. It wouldn't be my first choice for a home theater. But for the price, this 50" plasma, with a 5.1 surround system thrown in, would be a great addition to a game room.

This 42" LCD from LG's top of the line series contains all the bells and whistles -- 1080p resolution, 120 Hz. display, multiple HDMI 1.3 inputs, and a USB port.
The Mitsubishi LT-40134 is a feature-rich 40" LCD with future-proof functions like HDMI 1.3 connectivity and support for DeepColor and x.v.Color content. Its sharp and bright picture was consistently appealing. The audio, not so much.

The 46LX177 is part of Toshiba's Cinema Series, which is the top of the line for their REGZA LCDs. As you would expect, along with 1080p resolution, it contains all the high-end features common at this price range.
