Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds will always be one of my favorite eighties cartoons. This scene from "Juliette's Secret" features not only a fantastic fight but also wonderful ad-libbing from the voice actors! It should be noted that Cam Clarke who played Leonardo in the eighties Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon is the voice of Dogtanian!
As "More Than Meets the Eye" Part 3 draws to a close the audience are shocked to watch as Megatron and his fellow Decepticons leave the planet Earth victorious! This is followed by a fantastic moment from Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime who screams out his enemy's name...
In the Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds episode "Dogtanian Meets The King" there is one particular beautifully animated yet utterly terrifying scene. The Musketeers are sworn to keep their swords sheathed, but this scene shows the Cardinal's guards provoking a Musketeer by completely humiliating him.
From the memorable "Enter: She-Hulk" episode here we see Jennifer Walters transform into her more powerful form! Be sure to listen to the amusing dialogue and delivery of the two agents of HYDRA...
This moment from the Transformers episode "The Ultimate Doom" Part 2, is probably my most favorite piece of Grimlock humor. The leader of the Dinobots would often be an easy character for the writers to write for, but here is one moment in the series where the audacity of his stubbornness would cause him to question himself.
In the episode "Tomb Of The Unknown Hulk" Bruce Banner is cured of his curse. But when the Spymaster steals a device, Banner realizes that only the Hulk can save the day. The dialogue from both Bruce Banner and Rick Jones works perfectly in this scene. It also features the rare one-shot transformation...
"More Than Meets the Eye" Part 3 features the first time Starscream attacks Megatron in the Transformers series. What I have always loved about this scene is Soundwave's loyalty to Megatron. This would only be heightened in the animated movie when the ever-loyal Soundwave carried Megatron away after his battle with Optimus Prime...
There are many great moments in The Real Ghostbusters episode "Ragnarok and Roll". This scene where DiTillio's life hangs in the balance is one of them. It should be noted that the writer of this episode J. Michael Straczynski named the character after fellow writer Larry DiTillio!
Here is the extremely powerful conclusion to the classic Dungeons & Dragons episode "The Dragon's Graveyard". The voice acting and animation is perfect in this scene!
From the episode "Punks on Wheels" here is a pretty cool variation on the transformation from Bruce Banner into the Hulk. I like the fact that as he pulls his hand away we can already see his face changing...
The upbeat ending to the Dungeons & Dragons episode "Beauty and the Bogbeast" always brings a smile to my face. The animation at times is amusing, with Eric and Dungeon Master holding hands and dancing...
Here is a great little comical scene from the episode "Countdown to Extinction". This was the first appearance of Frenzy, who unsurprisingly was voiced by Frank Welker. Actually looking at this scene Franker Welker voices ALL of the Decepticons except Thundercracker!
This scene is a great brief, unexpected action scene from the first few minutes of the Dungeons & Dragons episode "Beauty and the Bogbeast". It may be me, but I am pretty sure that the size of the giant appears to change in certain shots. Still, that does not spoil this from being a highly entertaining, and well animated scene!
Here is a fantastic scene from "The Dragon's Graveyard" featuring Dungeon Master's pupils. Having been prevented from going home by Venger the kids are understandably upset. The direction of this scene is bold for an eighties cartoon; there is no music to this scene, only the superbly acted dialogue. The best moment is when Eric looks away unable to answer Hank's final question...
We all know the origin of the Hulk, yet it is interesting to see how the various cartoons have interpreted it over the years. This scene from "Origin Of The Hulk" has some great moments of direction, my favorite being when Bruce Banner realizes the bomb is about to go off and puts his fist in front of his mouth, terrified! Voice actor Michael Bell is on fine form in this scene...
In The Real Ghostbusters episode "Beneath These Streets" Janine Melnitz takes a stand, and in an effort to save Ray orders the Ghostbusters into action! Just when everything seems alright and we see that the Ghostbusters back Janine's earlier actions, Peter tells Janine one thing that makes her wish she had kept her mouth shut!
As a kid I remember the first time I saw the Transformers episode "Heavy Metal War". I was shocked to see all of the Constructicons merge into one giant robot. This is still one of my favorite scenes from Transformers due to the smooth animation and pacing of the scene!
"The Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow" opens up with an amazing battle scene that does not let up. Not only is it well-directed, but the physical comedy is there for all to behold! Bob Kline's storyboards of this episode were followed wonderfully by the animators. The best moment in this scene is when we see Eric being fought over by the Bullywugs and the Lizard Men!
Another clip from the beautifully animated MASK episode "Vanishing Point" in which we see some fantastic air acrobatics in a battle between Matt Trakker in Thunderhawk and Miles Mayhem in Switchblade!
In the MASK episode "Assault on Liberty" the Statue of Liberty goes missing during a magic trick. In this scene Matt Trakker explains to Duane Kennedy how the magic trick was supposed to work. Also notice that the World Trade Center is featured prominently in the background shots, this is because it plays a role later in the episode! Some nice foreshadowing...
Here is the first scene from "Welcome to Galaxy High" where we see Doyle and Aimee arrive at their new school. Doyle's character is incredibly well-written in this scene, and Hal Rayle plays him as a real jerk! The transformation he would undergo in this episode felt very real, even if his surroundings did not!
